TOUR OVERVIEW


Visit a variety of ethnic hill tribe groups in a day! On this tour we will also visit Chiang Dao cave and a Thai orchid farm.

TOUR DESCRIPTION


You will be picked up at your Chiang Mai hotel and we will depart the city in a northerly direction towards the small town of Chiang Dao. The first stop of the day will be at a small orchid and butterfly farm where you can see the cultivation of a variety of colorful Thai orchids. Also on the way we will stop to see hill tribes from a variety of ethnic groups including, Akha, Meo and Lisu. We will proceed onto Chiang Dao Cave where you can take a deep cavern tour by lamp light. Lunch will be taken before making our way back to Chiang Mai. On the route back we will pay a visit to an Karen Long Neck hill tribe village.

ITINERARY


• Pickup from your hotel in Chiang Mai. 8:00am
• Drive 30 minutes to orchid farm
• Visit orchid and butterfly farm
• Visit 4 hill tribe village (includes Akha, Meo, Lisu).
• Visit Chiang Dao Cave
• Lunch.
• Visit Karen Long Neck village
• Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai. 5:00pm

Groups
This tour is conducted as a group tour to depart we need a minimum of 2 persons booked on the tour. On a group tour you will join a group of up to 14 persons.

Transport
Group tours - transport will be a modern comfortable air-conditioned minibus

Transfer
This tour includes transfer to and from your Chiang Mai Hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation. Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure.

Please note that this tour can pick up from city hotels only and can not pick up from resorts outside the city.

Accommodation
This is a full day tour and no accommodation is provided. Blugecko can arrange your Chiang Mai hotel if required

Guides
This tour is conducted with an English speaking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)

Insurance
A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.
Dress Codes and what to wear

• The Northern Thailand climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire.

• Please be prepared for the occasional shower, luckily in Chiang Mai rainfall is mostly confined to short showers rather than prolonged rainfall. A lightweight easily packable raincoat is an ideal precaution

• No swim wear is required on this tour

Fitness
Exertion levels are light on this tour with a few short walks between attractions. There are steps and slopes

Meals
This is a full day tour and lunch is provided. Vegetarians can be catered for

Tipping
There is no compulsory tipping. Tipping is at your own discretion and choice, but if you felt that you were served by the guide and driver well during your trip any extra income is gratefully received.
